UP Michigan Camping Trip

After we finished up school and got it all packed away for the year, our first big summer event was our camping trip to the UP. We have our favorite spot and we were so excited to get there. It does make for a long trip, but it is so worth it.

Our first day there is always a set up camp day. We had just gotten a new tent, but didn't have time to set it up before we left. We should have made time to set it up! When we opened the package there was no rain fly(sort of important when you are camping) and no tent stakes, plus it was the wrong tent all together. After some time of thinking and praying, we decided to head into town and get a new tent. The new one worked fine and were were back in business.

The weather was a little chilly the first few days, but we were prepared and the camp fire helped alot. This years camping theme for the kids was "Narnia" of course. The played all there Narnia games, made bows out of sticks, had sword fights, and galloped on their "horses" all over the camp grounds. Such imagination!

We also put some miles our on our new toy. Ethan was a pro this year on his 4 wheeler.

The fishing was a hit for everyone. Ethan caught his first large mouth bass. Andrew caught 6 and they ate 2 of them for dinner.

Even though it was only 60 and got down to freezing one night, the kids swam in the lake anyways. Crazy kids!

It was another memorable week long camping trip!
