We welcomed Elisea Jolene into our home on Tuesday at 3:48 pm. She was 6lbs 13 oz. and was 21 inches long. We went in on Monday at 8 pm mainly for just observation and so they could start the induction first thing on Tuesday morning. It was so hard to leave Ethan and Elizabeth, especially since Ethan was crying and saying I don't want you to go, stay with me. I lost it, it was so hard for me to leave him. He did a some humor when he said " that baby is going to break your tummy mommy"! My blood pressure was pretty high for most of the labor until after the epidural at around noon on Tuesday. The labor was pretty slow but that when she was ready to come it went really fast. Around 3:00 I was 7cm and so Andrew decided around 3:15 to go get a sub. Well when she check again at around 3:20 she was like oh you are ready right now. So things got a little crazy but Andrew and Einhaus got there in time. With 1 and a half pushes she was out in the world. She is so tiny, but such a sweety.
We can home on Wednesday night and it was so nice to be home. We both really missed Ethan and Elizabeth. It was such a nice day on Thursday and Friday, I'm glad we came home early. Andrew was able to get the bridge rebuilt and the pond cleaned out. I was able to get used to having 3 kids to keep track of, that is going to be tricky. Luckly Elisea sleeps a lot during the day, and hopefully during the night as well. She didn't sleep good the first 2 nights home but last night she did sleep for 2 almost 3 hours at a time. She is still so precious, even if she is not sleeping.
It was so fun to see the kids reaction to their new sister. Mom said that Ethan was telling Elizabeth that we have a new sister and they were carrying around baby dolls when we were at the hospital. Elizabeth woke up first on Thursday so she got the first glimpse of here new sister. She came into the room with Andrew all smiles (as usual). Then she saw me holding Elisea and said baby and climbed up on the bed to check her out. She was so sweet to her new sister it was just too cute to watch her. Ethan came down and asked "where is your new sister". He was also very excited to meet her and of course wanted to hold her. They both have been so good with her. Ethan likes to kiss and hug on her and will hold her during story time at night. He always wants to know where she is. Elizabeth likes the "baby" and will check her out but looses interesting in her more quickly then Ethan.
All in all I think we are all adjusting to the change of a new member very well. Andrew and I could use a little more sleep but that is to be expected.
