Today was my 29th birthday and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day. It was sunny and warm with just a little breeze.
After our waffle breakfast, Ethan and Elizabeth were ready to get outside and play. We went to the quarry to get some sand for the garden, but to our disappointment (especially Ethan's) it was closed. Ethan was asking all day why was the quarry on holiday, in fact that was the last thing he asked me when he went to be tonight.
When we got home we started working on planting the garden. Ethan and Elizabeth were good helpers in the garden. They really liked helping with the potatoes. Elizabeth was carry them around on a freezbie Ethan found. She looked like a waitress with a tray of food. Ethan had a load of them in his truck and helped by dumping them in the holes. The lost interest and headed out to the big dirt pile. The were loading up loads of dirt and bringing in across the bridge. Elizabeth loves playing on the bridge.
We had lunch under our umbrella, then the kids took a nap. Andrew made my cake for me during nap time and we did some more planting. When the kids got up we did some more planting and finally finished the planting. The kids helped me water the tomatoes and peppers. Well, maybe I should say the did a lot of playing in the bucket of water while I watered the plants. The were having fun.
We finished out my birthday with chicken on the grill and a nice walk. A great relaxing birthday.
