Chain of Lake camping

We finally got our camping trip in after the budget passed and the parks were open for business. Chain of Lakes camp ground was our first stop. We decided to try some camping close to home, since neither of us could stand Elisea's screaming for a 7 hour trip to Michigan. It worked out well and the kids really enjoyed riding their bikes around the camp ground, playing in the tent, going for walks, and even swimming (even though it was freezing).

Playing in the tent

Ethan is getting really comfortable and very fast on his bike. In fact by the end of our 3 day stay he was riding around the whole "circle" and even up and down the bigger hills. This is huge for Ethan. Elizabeth on the other hand is a dare devil on her tricycle and was flying down all the hills. Now getting back up the hills required a little help from mom or dad.

We tried out some new camping recipes and they all were a hit. Tacos in a pie iron, banana's in foil (with chocolate chips, cocnut, marshmallows), apples in foil (with brown sugar, cinnamon, and almonds), coke chicken in our dutch oven, muffins in orange peels.

Bath time...I think we are needing
a bigger bathtub.

Bedtime...Elizabeth asleep as soon
as she hit the pillow.

Crazy children swimming in 75 degree weather.
Andrew and I were sitting on the shore in jeans.

After a couple of fun days we headed home for the 4th celebration with the Belth's.
Maybe we should camp more often...this never happens.
Priceless!!
