After our unit study on the ocean, last week we had a field trip. Our original plan was to head to Gulf Shores Alabama, but a hurricane changed our plans and we headed east instead of south. Virgina Beach, Virgina was our new vacation stop. The camp ground was really nice with big shaded camp sites. Look at these cool trees to climb (and hang wet clothes on).
We had a great time camping and playing at the beach. It was very hot and humid the whole time (even at night while we tried to sleep), but I think everyone had a great time.
The Chesapeak Bay had smaller waves but some really cool boats to look at. We even saw some Navy Destroyer boats and a sub.
The kids loved the ocean, swimming, biking, and playing around the the camp site. We are still planning on going to Gulf Shores next month....as long as God does not send another hurricane!
